Terms of service

Placeholder. Replace before launch with your final terms drafted alongside your solicitor partner.

Who we are

These terms apply to services provided by Octane Claims & Hire Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales under company number 16229565, with registered office at Flat 6 Kings Court, 26 Bridge Street, Birmingham, B1 2JR.

Our services

Octane Claims & Hire Ltd arranges replacement vehicles, vehicle recovery and repair, and refers your claim to a regulated solicitor. We do not provide legal advice ourselves.

No cost to you

For non-fault claims we accept, all costs are recovered from the at-fault driver's insurer. There is no charge to you.

Our panel solicitor

Octane is a packaged service. When you instruct us we refer your claim to our SRA-regulated panel solicitor — chosen because they specialise in non-fault road-traffic claims and are held to the standard we set for every case we accept. Other claims firms may let you pick a different solicitor; we don't, because we will not put your settlement in the hands of a firm we cannot vouch for. That's the duty of care we owe every client.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Statutory disclosure

The following disclosure is provided to satisfy the referral rules the Financial Conduct Authority (under the Claims Management: Conduct of Business sourcebook) and the Solicitors Regulation Authority expect of firms that operate a referral arrangement:

  • You are not obliged to accept any referral made by Octane Claims & Hire Ltd. You may instruct a solicitor of your own choice to handle your claim, arrange your own recovery and repair, and arrange your own replacement vehicle.
  • Octane is a packaged service. If you choose to use a different solicitor or supplier, you would be proceeding outside our service and would need to arrange those elements independently.
  • The panel solicitor Octane refers your claim to is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. The credit-hire provider is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We will identify each in writing before instructing them on your case.
  • Octane does not receive any payment from you for the service. Where we receive a referral fee or commission from a panel provider in respect of your case, the amount and source of that fee will be disclosed in your engagement pack before you sign.
